This website is dedicated to the Wonderful, Short, Happy, Healthy and HAIRY Shorties....Also known as rough
coats, wire hair, scruffy look, fuzzy face..just to name a few. While visiting this website you will be able to view
all colors, patterns, sizes and  hair texture that our modern day roughcoat shorties have.  I have added several still
shot photographs and a few videos of  the popular roughcoat shorties.  The shortie roughcoats are gaining in
popularity everyday.  The shorty rough coats sure do hold a very special place in my heart.  They are full of
happiness and silly little antics that makes me smile everyday and very proud to own them.

Some people say they look like little wind up toys.....  There are basically two different coats in regards to the
roughcoats...You can have a roughcoat (lots of hair) or a broken coat (a mixture between a smoothcoat and  a
roughcoat).   Please note:  It has been my experience...It can take up to a full year for a roughcoat to develop into a
roughcoat...in other words  it starts off as a broken coat but in time it CAN develop into a roughcoat.   Nothing is
really set in stone in regards to the shorty jack russells!  If the hairs gets to be too much according to your
preference, you can always give them a hair cut or have them stripped like the show breeders do.  One tidbit I find
very interesting is the brokens and roughcoats don't shed as much as the smoothcoat shortys do...  I hope you enjoy
